One-club player Jake Hackett recently reached the 250 game milestone for Nyora.

PASSIONATE Nyora Cricket Club representative Jake Hackett brought up his 250th game for the club this month, just its fourth player to reach that milestone.

Making his senior debut as a 14-year-old in the 2004/5 season, Jake has never looked back, being a fixture at senior level ever since.

He joins fellow life members Les Glover, Wayne Richards and Peter Jensen in reaching the 250-game milestone at the club.

“He’s a loyal one-club player, a past captain, and remains an onfield leader,” Nyora Cricket Club secretary Adam White said, noting players can rely on Jake’s honest feedback.

Jake’s big game took place on rival turf at Bass Recreation Reserve.

It was appropriate that he was at the crease with brother Gavin when Nyora brought up the winning runs in its A2 clash with Kilcunda Bass.

Jake was 19 not out, with the brothers’ partnership adding 52 runs to see Nyora home by seven wickets.

Jake’s season highlight with the bat was 115 not out in a previous game against Kilcunda Bass in December, and he is averaging 62.8 for the campaign.

In his most recent knock, Jake was a handy contributor for Nyora making 31 in its first innings win over Foster and taking a wicket in the second innings.

Jake has been solid with the ball this season, albeit bowling limited overs, picking up six wickets at an average of 19.2.

The Hackett family are a big part of Nyora Cricket Club, with Jake’s and Gavin’s brother Brenton having previously played there.
