MDU’S fielding side reaped the rewards of its efforts as it successfully defended its score of 10/133 against Foster.

Josh Toner and Jake Best continued their partnership for Foster, with Best bowled for 12 runs by Scott Browne.

Toner made a handy 35 runs, but this turned out to be the best score of the day.

MDU bowlers Sam Bright and vice-captain Mitch McGrath made it a tough day for Foster, taking 3/49 and 3/29 respectively.

Two wickets were taken by Browne.

Jake Staley and Andrew Pattie attempted to up Foster’s score late in the innings but only managed to add 18 and 14 runs respectively.

Foster was bowled out in the 52nd over with a score of 10/103.

Donohue and Dakin deliver for Glen Alvie

GLEN Alvie showed it was too strong for Kilcunda-Bass.

Glen Alvie set the pace of the match when it made 3/298, thanks to a dominating innings from batsmen Matthew Donohue and Matthew Dakin.

Cameron Davidson and Aaron Conron opened the batting for Kilcunda-Bass on Saturday.

Davidson was bowled by the in-form Dakin for seven runs.

Conron was joined by Jaydan Tregear and went on to make 48 and 26 runs respectively.

Tregear’s wicket was claimed by Ben McRae, which saw Brad Wright step up.

Wright contributed another 37 runs, but Kilcunda-Bass was unable to catch up to Glen Alvie.

McRae was Glen Alvie’s top bowler, taking 3/34.

Dakin claimed 2/44.

Kilcunda-Bass conceded defeat with a score of 5/145.

Nyora shines in comfortable win

NYORA claimed a victory over Inverloch.

Inverloch was bowled out 10/96 in its innings, allowing Nyora to play 21 overs on day one.

Nyora picked up where it left off with a score of 2/26.

The partnership of Bailey Henderson and captain Jake Henry continued their campaign and made the top scores of 24 and 29 respectively.

Henry was not out when Nyora won the game.

These scores were enough to defeat Inverloch, with a slower run rate from the rest of the order.

Callum Asbury was Inverloch’s best bowler, taking 2/28. 

Jesse Dugard, Rhys Newman and Ty Debono claimed one wicket each.

After playing 68 overs, Nyora celebrated the win with a final score of 6/107.
