INVERLOCH will be looking to fend off ladder leader Nyora’s onslaught this Saturday.
Nyora won the toss at the Inverloch Recreation Reserve and decided to send the home team into bat first.
Nyora’s bowlers quickly picked off the top of the order, however, Wayne Chapman and Archie Terlich managed to make an impact on the scoreboard for Inverloch.
Chapman contributed 36 runs and Terlich top scored with 46 runs.
The bowling efforts were shared between Keith Maclure, Ben Pugh and Daniel Blackney, who claimed three wickets each.
Inverloch played 52 overs and finished up with a score of 10/115.
Nyora opened its account with Jordan Knox and Lincoln Brock making 10 and 13 runs respectively – both were not out.
After eight overs, Nyora finished the day with 0/28 and will continue its innings this weekend.



Strong innings for Phillip Island
PHILLIP Island will be defending 7/208 against Koonwarra L/RSL this weekend.
Phillip Island made the decision to bat first and started strong with opening batsman Gavin Excell making 37 runs.
The dismissal of opening batsman David Fusinato – bowled by Jordi Geary – after contributing 17 runs made way for Steven Niven, who top scored with 52 runs.
Niven retired not out.
Drew Fusinato hit 46 runs, allowing Phillip Island to reach its competitive total.
Koonwarra L/RSL bowler Campbell Riseley was the standout, claiming 3/31.
Other wickets were shared between Spencer Chadwick, Geary and Ashley Boxall.
Koonwarra L/RSL will have its opportunity to bat this Saturday.
