Batting at first drop, Lochlan McLean gave it his all and ensured Club stayed competitive against a dominate Nyora side.
McLean made 132 runs before he was dismissed by Aaron Kaddatz.
Kaddatz proved to be the unstoppable force that helped secure the win for Nyora, taking an incredible 7/85.
Other wickets were taken by Aidan Simmons and Aaron Thompson.
Club’s Jy Hull and captain Jason O’Reilly also made sound contributions to the scoreboard, hitting 44 and 42 runs respectively.
Club pulled up short with a final total of 9/293.
MDU stand its ground
MDU successfully defended its total of 10/181 against Kilcunda-Bass on Saturday.
Kilcunda-Bass suffered a slow start to the innings, with its first four batsmen dismissed before any could reach double figures.
Captain Jaydan Tregear stepped in to save the day, batting 54 before he was bowled by Steve Arnup.
Gregory Miller later contributed 31 runs before he was run out by Joel Sinclair.
Todd Smith also impacted the scoreboard with an additional 20 runs.
Arnup was MDU’s star bowler, taking 3/26.
Mark Cantwell was the only other multiple wicket taker.
Kilcunda-Bass was unable to gain the momentum required and finished the day at 10/136.
Kennedy leads Cougars to win



FIVE wickets claimed by Jason Kennedy ensured Nerrena could not challenge Koonwarra L/RSL’s score on Saturday.
Kennedy claimed 5/34, dismissing the top of Nerrena’s batting order.
Nerrena’s opening batsman James Kelly made 31 runs before he retired not out.
Joel Renden then added a further 30 runs before Shaun Sparks top scored with 44.
Twenty runs were also accumulated by William Croatto.
For Koonwarra L/RSL wickets also fell to Amad Mujtaba (2/10) and Nathan Trotto (1/21).
Cougars Captain James Rushton played his role well out on the field, taking three catches.
Nerrena ended its innings with a final score of 9/165.
Glen Alvie up to the challenge
GLEN Alvie breezed passed Foster’s tally at the Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve on Saturday.
Foster had set the challenge at 10/127 the previous week.
Glen Alvie’s opening partnership of Matthew Donohue and Scott Peatling set Glen Alvie on the path to victory.
Donohue made 64 runs before he was dismissed by a catch from Tex Dyson, and Peatling added 58 runs before he was caught by Harvey Griggs.
Vice captain Nathan Findlay was the only other batsman to crack double figures with 16 runs.
However, it was enough to secure the win for Glen Alvie.
Foster bowler Jake Best fought back against the Glen Alvie side, taking 3/12.
Wickets were also taken by Jack Weston (2/49), captain Josh Toner (1/19) and Griggs (1/11).
Glen Alvie won the game with a score of 7/166.
