OUTTRIM Moyarra Kongwak posted a commanding total of 2/276 in 40 overs, with an incredible display of batting from Kris Kerr (133*) and Trevor McGeachin (107), who both produced superb innings. The pair’s partnership propelled the score after early wickets, including a steady knock from Clayton Quaife (19).
McGeachin’s aggressive 107 off 76 balls, including 13 boundaries and three sixes, added momentum, while Kerr’s unbeaten 133, featuring 15 fours and three sixes, anchored the innings as they dominated the MDU bowlers.
Despite the best efforts of Daniel Feild (1/38) and Harper Cocksedge (1/20), the total proved too much to chase.
MDU’s response faltered early, with Outtrim Moyarra Kongwak’s bowlers proving to be clinical. Mitchell Andrew was the standout, taking four wickets for just 18 runs in his eight overs, with support from Justin Greenwood (2/4) and Ben Maguire (2/9). The batting lineup struggled significantly, with no player managing to get past 12 runs. The top order crumbled quickly, and they were bowled out for just 48 runs in 20.2 overs, giving OMK a dominant 228-run victory.
Low scoring encounter
KORUMBURRA posted a modest total of 8/126 in their allotted 40 overs, despite a solid top-order effort from Caleb Turton (18), Shane Dole (23), and Aaron Damon (28). A steadying performance came from Philip Richards, who remained unbeaten on 23 in the middle order. Wonthaggi Club’s bowlers were dominant, with Sean Roche (3/17) and Jai Williamson (3/24) leading the charge.
Roche’s tight spells were crucial in restricting Korumburra’s progress, while Williamson’s three wickets ensured the middle order was dismantled.
Wonthaggi Club’s chase was equally challenging, with their top order faltering under the pressure of Korumburra’s disciplined bowling attack. Kai Allison (34) provided some resistance, but wickets fell quickly at regular intervals. Jakeb Jorgensen (3/13) was the star for Korumburra, taking three vital wickets, including that of Harry West and key players David Britt (30) and Jason O’Reilly (2).
Aaron Damon (2/24) also played a pivotal role in the middle overs, removing Sean Roche (23) and Mohamed Ashik Mohamed Nizar (10).
Lower-order resistance was enough to push Club to their target, winning by three runs, 7/129 in 32 overs.
Island shine, Inverloch falters
INVERLOCH, after being put in to bat first, could only manage a modest 101 all out in 37.5 overs.
A middle-order collapse led by Jobe Williams (4/13) and solid support from David Womersley (3/14) meant that Inverloch struggled throughout their innings.
The top order could not convert starts, with Archie Terlich being the highest scorer with 32 off 58 balls. Shaun Hayes (15), Leigh Cole (9) and Jack Rowe (9) added brief resistance, but regular wickets saw Inverloch bundled out before reaching 110. Phillip Island’s bowlers dominated with tight lines and disciplined deliveries, making scoring difficult.
Phillip Island chased down the target of 102 with relative ease, finishing at 4/103 in just 21.1 overs. Connor Epifano provided a solid foundation at the top with 47 off 57 balls, while Tharidu Asurumuni remained unbeaten on 28, striking at over 100.
Callan O’Flynn was the star with the ball for Inverloch, claiming three wickets for 12 runs. Despite the early loss of Max Arceo (4) and the middle-order wickets of Lawrence Ferrari (0) and David Womersley (7), Phillip Island coasted to victory. Their successful chase was built on a 35-run partnership between Epifano and Asurumuni, ensuring a comfortable six-wicket win.

B Grade, Division 2
Town secures convincing victory
LEONGATHA Town clinched a six-wicket victory over Nyora in a competitive B Grade Division 2 clash.
Nyora, having won the toss, elected to bat and posted a total of 9/180 in its allotted 40 overs.
The innings began shakily for Nyora, losing opener Colin Knox for just two runs.
His son, Jordan Knox, steadied the ship with a patient 23 off 62 balls, including three boundaries.
Number three batsman Daniel Esler contributed 34 and
Lochie Row 19, but it was Keith Linford’s brisk 28 off 29 deliveries that provided momentum.
Ryan White added a valuable 20, while extras contributed a significant 26 runs to the total.
Leongatha Town’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Trent McRae and Frazer Livingstone, both claiming three wickets.
McRae’s eight-over spell yielded 3 for 31, while Livingstone was economical with figures of three for 25 from his eight overs.
Lachlan Gill, skipper Luke Ashton and Colin Bruce chipped in with a wicket apiece.
In response, Leongatha Town’s chase was anchored by opener Mark Hardy, who remained unbeaten on 82 from 109 balls, striking 10 fours and a six. He was well-supported by McRae, who scored 38 off 50 balls.




Despite losing Luke Bowman (4) and Max Carter (20), Hardy’s composed innings ensured Leongatha Town reached the target in 37 overs, finishing at 3 for 181.
Nyora’s bowlers struggled to make significant inroads, with only Lincoln Brock (2 for 32) and Myles Cordeux (1 for 28) among the wickets.
Ryan White was economical, conceding just 20 runs in his eight overs, but lacked wicket-taking support.
This victory adds crucial points for Leongatha Town in the league standings.
Balanced bowling and solid batting for Foster
FOSTER emerged victorious in its match against Glen Alvie, posting a competitive total of 8/204 before successfully defending it, dismissing Glen Alvie for 174 in 40 overs.
Foster won the toss and opted to bat first.
Despite early setbacks, their batting lineup showed resilience.
Brandon Busuttil top scored with 49, while Jake Pilkington (44) and Donald Caldwell (40) were other major contributors.
Pilkington’s fellow opener Neil Henry (30) was also handy, though the middle order faltered under pressure from Glen Alvie’s bowlers.
Captain Darcy Hale was the standout for Glen Alvie, picking up four wickets for 34 runs, including the crucial scalps of Caldwell and Tim Garvey.
Jack Brown also chipped in with two wickets for 13 runs. Foster’s lower order, with valuable cameos from Johnston (4*) and Samat (1*), managed to push the total to a competitive 8/204.
In reply, Glen Alvie started poorly, losing early wickets.
Steven Smith fought hard, contributing 52 runs, while Darcy Hale (41) and Daniel Gilbert (19) provided some resistance.
However, Foster’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings. Donald Caldwell (3/24) and Neil Henry (1/17) were exceptional, and Lance Moon (1/15), Max Johnston (1/13) and Bradd Cripps (1/10) added a key wicket.
Foster’s fielding was also solid, with key catches from the likes of Tim Garvey and Lucas Welsh.
Despite a late surge from Luke Scholz (15*), Glen Alvie fell short, 9/174 off its 40 overs handing Foster a well-earned 30-run win.
Foster’s all-round performance saw the Tigers rise to the challenge, securing crucial points in a well-fought contest.
Imperials chase down Killy-Bass target
KILCUNDA-Bass set a total of 133 runs, which wasn’t enough, Imperials triumphing by five wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, Kilcunda-Bass struggled early against a strong bowling attack from Imperials.
Only Gregory Miller (38) managed to build a significant innings, with Joel Huckett contributing 27.
Despite brief partnerships, Kilcunda-Bass couldn’t capitalise, with wickets falling at regular intervals.
Martin Reidy was the pick of the bowlers for Imperials, taking two wickets for 14 runs off eight overs.
Michael Malloy also bowled well, claiming two wickets for 27 off his full over-allotment.
The lower order of Kilcunda-Bass showed some resistance, with Alister McBride (10*) and Rohan Duff (3*) adding small but crucial runs to push the score to 8/133 in the allotted 40 overs.
In response, the Imperials were in a spot of bother after losing early wickets.
Kane Maskell led the charge with a composed 58, Imperials aided by the middle-order contributions of Francois Botha (24) and Lucas Anderson (not out 24).
Alister McBride (2/29) and James Papworth (1/10) delivered key breakthroughs, while Rohan Duff (0/15) and Brett Joseph (1/15) kept things tight.
