It was a tricky day with the wind favouring one side, which died off as the game went on.
The Panthers struggled to find their footing and gave full credit to Garfield for taking advantage of the situation.
A shining light for Kilcunda Bass was the debut of Dylan Susic, who kicked three crucial goals for the game.
Kilcunda Bass was feeling confident in the first quarter, despite both sides failing to seize opportunities to fire off shots.
Garfield kicked two goals in the dying minutes of the quarter, gaining a 12-point lead at the first break.
Kilcunda Bass was unperturbed, feeling comfortable with the margin and ready to use the wind advantage.

Accepting the game wasn’t going to be clean, Kilcunda Bass focused on its pressure, with backmen Lochie Scott and Sam Watson putting up a great contest against Garfield’s key forwards.
Nathan Foote and Bradley Aldwell were also effective through the middle.
However, Kilcunda Bass wasn’t hitting its targets and didn’t seem to be in it.
Garfield kicked away in the last quarter to record its second win of the season.
Kilcunda Bass now turns its attention to its upcoming game against Koo Wee Rup.
The sixth versus seventh match will be a crucial one for both sides.
It will be a must-win game for the Panthers, so they will be heading into the match ready for a fight.
