IN A competitive clash, the Nyora Saints faced off against Catani Blues, ultimately falling short with a final score of 59 to 88 in favour of Catani, marking a 29-point victory for the Blues.

The match began with Nyora taking a solid lead, scoring 31 points to Catani’s 12 in the first quarter. Dylan Heylen started off Nyora’s run with the first goal inside four minutes. Followed three minutes later by Callum McNiff. Heylen, Lucas Lee and Jesse Heylen rounded out the first-quarter goals.

Catani mounted a strong comeback, evening the score at 39 points by halftime with Paul Delaroche adding Nyora’s only goal in the quarter.

At the start of the third quarter, Catani’s pressure intensified, extending their score to 66 while leaving Nyora stagnant at 39. Despite Nyora managing to add 20 points in the final quarter with goals by McNiff and Jordan Anderson, it wasn’t enough to close the gap as Catani continued to score, sealing the win with 88 points.

After a disappointing season last year, Nyora showed inroads that will be interesting to watch as the season progresses.
