INVERLOCH secured an outright win over the Imperials on Saturday.
The Imps made 7/78 the previous week, with Inverloch breezing over the score with 1/81 at stumps.
Inverloch continued its innings, which saw opening batsman and captain Brett Debono reach 90 runs.
Four bowlers from the Imperials claimed two wickets each.
Inverloch recorded a winning score of 8/173 before declaring and sending the Imps back into bat.
Things went from bad to worse for the Imps, with six ducks recorded, largely at the hands of Isaac Seuren.
Seuren was merciless, taking an incredible 8/11.
Opening batsman Campbell Reid made 14 runs, which was to be the top score of the innings.
Flynn Materia contributed eight runs and Aydan Williams made six.
Other wickets were taken by John Richardson and Ty Debono.
The Imperials handed Inverloch the outright win with a second innings score of 10/30.
Sharks claim the win
PHILLIP Island defeated MDU by four wickets on Saturday.
MDU made 10/99 in its first innings, with Phillip Island hoping to achieve an outright win after making 3/195 the previous week.
Phillip Island continued its innings before declaring at 6/215.
Captain Kurt Lane top scored with 137 runs.
MDU bowler Zak Bright pressured the Phillip Island batsmen, taking 4/27.
MDU’s batsmen rallied in the second innings, denying the Sharks their outright win.
Captain Craig Hoober kept his team on track with 53 runs.
Scott Brown contributed 23 runs to the tally.
Aidan Williams was Phillip Island’s best bowler, taking 2/25.
The wicket taking was shared between six other bowlers.
MDU’s final result was 8/196.
OMK run away with a victory
DESPITE a strong innings from Korumburra, OMK walked away with a convincing win on Saturday.
The Cobras made 10/197 the previous week, but the OMK batsmen were quick to pass the total.
Ben Maguire led the charge with 60 runs on the board and was not out at the end of the innings.
Joel Cuman contributed 32 runs.
For Korumburra, Matthew Loader was the top bowler, claiming 2/39.
The only other wicket was taken by Peter Edwards.
OMK celebrated a win with 3/176 after 37 overs.
Town wins in nailbiter
LEONGATHA Town and Koonwarra L/RSL competed in a two-day thriller, which ultimately resulted in a win for Town.
The Cougars won the toss during the previous week and had chosen to bat first.
Opening batsman Michael Thomas hit 63 runs before he was bowled out by Lachlan Gill.
Gill was a standout player for Town, taking 5/62.
Two more wickets were claimed by Ethan Smith.
Cougars captain Brad Anderson later added 31 runs and was not out.
Koonwarra L/RSL challenged Town with a respectable score of 10/208.
Town went into bat on Saturday, and a slow start to the innings had the Cougars feeling comfortable.
Bowlers Louis Read and Blake Smith were quick to dismiss the top of the batting order.
Read took 2/38 and Smith took 3/19, with Paris Buckley claiming 2/21 later in the innings.
Middle order batsman Colin Bruce turned the game around for Town.



Bruce scored 85 before he was bowled by William Cashin.
Samuel Clark and Viraj Peiris added 39 and 30 runs to round out the innings and were both not out.
Town rallied and won the day with 9/211.
B Grade, Division 2
Sharks unstoppable
A HANDY 152 runs from Andrew Tolley saw Phillip Island breeze over Wonthaggi Club’s total on Saturday.
Club had posted a competitive 9/249, but Phillip Island’s dominant performance proved too much to defend.
Club bowler Luke McGuirk had his team off to a good start when he bowled opening batsman John Manning out for a duck after facing two balls.
However, this sent Tolley to the crease.
Tharidu Asurumuni made 15 before his wicket fell to McGuirk at 2/21, which sent in David Womersley.
The partnership of Tolley and Womersley was too much for Club, with Womersley making 72 runs.
Neither batsman was out at the end of the innings.
Phillip Island’s final score was 2/250.
OMK shows its strength
OMK flexed its muscle against Glen Alvie on Saturday.
During the previous week, OMK made the respectable score of 7/275.
Glen Alvie went in determined to stay competitive, but a lacklustre start to the innings resulted in an impressive win for the away side.
Darcy Hale top scored for Glen Alvie with 20 runs late in the innings.
Archie Donohue contributed 16 runs and was not out.
OMK bowler Scott Handley put the pressure on Glen Alvie, taking 4/15 and quickly working through the top of the order.
Thomas Walker took 2/21.
Glen Alvie finished its innings with a score of 9/92.
Foster under pressure
AN embattled Foster side was defeated by Kilcunda-Bass on Saturday.
Kilcunda-Bass made 10/167 the previous week and Foster went in with eyes on the target.
However, Kilcunda-Bass’ fielding side had other plans.
A fill-in opened the batting for Foster and made 20 runs.
This was ultimately the top score for Foster, with the only other notable score being 13 runs from Ben East.
Five Foster batsmen were dismissed for ducks.
Alister McBride decimated the bottom half of the batting order, taking 6/13 and forcing Foster to finish up early.
Rohan Duff and Darcy Clay were also multiple wicket takers.
After 33.2 overs, Foster handed Kilcunda-Bass the win with a score of 10/58.
Red Caps outplay Cobras
NERRENA was victorious against Korumburra over the weekend.
Korumburra was bowled out for 130 the previous week and Nerrena was already advancing with a score of 1/93 before day two.
Nerrena continued its innings with S. Helms top scoring with 51 runs.
Brian Gannon made 39 runs and Michael Croatto contributed 27.
Korumburra Paul Dickson gave it his all in an attempt to stop Nerrena’s attack, taking 5/47.
Darren Scott claimed 2/82.
Nerrena won with a score of 9/209.
Korumburra went into bat again and made 4/47.
Scott continued his run and top scored with 21 runs.
Nerrena’s top bowler, Archie Gannon claimed 2/8.
