INVERLOCH climbed its way to the top of the ladder after defeating Nyora on Saturday.
Playing at Inverloch’s Thompson Reserve, the Stingrays were fired up to reach its target of 10/101, resuming its innings from 3/32.
Jake Dennerley set Inverloch on its path to victory with 18 runs before his wicket fell to Henry Dolphin.
Captain Dave Newman sealed the deal for Inverloch, making 30 not out.
For Nyora, wicket-taking was shared between Reece Cordeux, Dolphin and vice-captain Aidan Simmons with two each.
Inverloch won the match with a final score of 7/104.
The win saw Inverloch take Nyora’s place on top of the A2 ladder by percentage.
A ton and not out for Le Page
FOSTER was unable to defend its score of 10/169 against a strong MDU side on Saturday.
MDU’s attack on Foster was led by opening batsman Mark Le Page, who made his ton before he retired not out.
Aside from Le Page, MDU lost the top of its batting order in quick succession, but Wayne Prosser managed to turn it around.




Prosser added 55 runs to the tally and also retired not out.
An additional 27 runs from vice-captain Mitch McGrath ensured the game would go MDU’s way.
For Foster, Michael Cooke was the star bowler, claiming 2/46.
Single wickets were taken by Eddie Smith, Ryan Jorgensen and Mitchell Allott.
MDU took the points with a score of 5/231.
Kilcunda-Bass crushes Glen Alvie
KILCUNDA-BASS enjoyed a convincing win over Glen Alvie.
Batting first, Kilcunda-Bass had made 10/271 on day one.
Glen Alvie had a consistent start to its innings with Matthew Donohue and Matthew Dakin contributing 18 runs each, and Archie Moore and captain Ben McRae making 10 runs each.
Unfortunately, Glen Alvie had very few opportunities to hit the scoreboard from there on out.
Wicket-taking was shared between Kilcunda-Bass bowlers Todd Smith, Brad Wright and Robert Wallace, taking two each.
In the 48th over, Glen Alvie was bowled out with a score of 10/81.
