THERE was a thrilling conclusion to Round 7 of the Leongatha and District Cricket Association Open Women’s competition when Leongatha Town and Kilcunda-Bass Great Whites played out a T20 tie at Bass.

Batting first, off their 20 overs, Kilcunda-Bass managed the modest total of 102 bolstered by the efforts of some of the tail-end batters, including Kristie Jacobs 13 and Nicole Thompson 11, who hit out at the end.

In reply, fourth-placed Leongatha Town got behind in the chase but with the help of Sarah Knox 11, Stella McGannon 8, Kathryn Stewart 14 and Nat Challis 15 they just got there in the end for a tie.

The wickets for Killy-Bass were shared around by Joanne Huckett who took 2/10 early to contain the visitor’s scoring.
