PHILLIP Island’s Hannah Eisen has been nominated as a semi-finalist in the Regional Development Victoria Leadership and Innovation Award which forms part of the 2023 Community Achievement Awards for Victoria.
The awards encourage, acknowledge, and reward the valuable contributions that individuals, communities, and businesses are making throughout Victoria.
Having been selected as a Semi Finalist, Hannah’s nomination will now be reviewed by a judging panel during the final stages of judging, where the finalists will be selected.
Hannah was nominated by Phillip Island Board Riders (PIBC) treasurer Joanna O’Reilly Stubbs who said Hannah is heavily involved in the community, she is passionate about women being enabled in STEM, architecture and design, sport and recreation, community infrastructure, as well as community strengthening and the environment.
“It is wonderful for the Bass Coast Shire community to have Hannah listed as a semi-finalist, to demonstrate professional female leadership in local government and regional Victoria.”
Hannah is renowned in the community for her generosity and hard work. Working tirelessly for the girls and women in sport, mentoring the next generation – especially in architecture, design, project management, and community infrastructure - particularly the cultural centre.
Hannah said, “the additional study to upskill ensures I’m keeping relevant.”
Hannah strives to help not-for-profits, supports grass roots community sport, is speaking up regarding violence against women, focuses on females in construction, STEM, is solo travelling as a female and establishing innovative programs, and events to help the region feel more connected especially after COVID – including running yoga classes at PIBC three times a week for the community.
“The nomination is huge for me especially as I hate bragging, don’t like self-promotion, and do things in my community as a volunteer because I genuinely love where I live and love the support I get from the people in my life.
“I was honesty shocked I got this far into the process but am grateful to be recognised. I put so much time and passion into PIBC to get things happening, so to have a little recognition is very nice.”
This finalist phase of judging will take place on October 11.
