THE longboard divisions of the 2025 Australian Surf Championships are held as a stand-alone event on Bundjalung Country, along the stunning Tweed Coast in northern New South Wales, and Phillip Island local Jacquie Chambers put on a dominant display in the Women’s Over 50 final, claiming her first-ever Australian Championship.

She posted scores of 6.17 and 6.67 to secure the win by a 4.77-point margin.

"I’ve been in rehab for a couple of years after a neck injury, so I’ve been hitting the gym and working on my surfing with the goal of returning to compete at the Thermos Australian Longboard Titles. I was just aiming to give it my best, but to walk away with my very first Aussie title means the absolute world to me."

Longboarding once again proved that it's not only rich in tradition, but also thriving as a high-performance discipline.
